In chapters 10 and 11 Peeta had just confessed during the interview that he liked Katniss causing the District 12 tributes to be nicked named "the star-crossed lovers". Eventually all of the 24 tributes were placed in the arena, although you have to wait 60 seconds before the gong is rung and you can move. As the 60 seconds quickly pass by Katniss pondered if she should run for the arrow and bows or follow Haymitch's instructions. As there is almost 10 seconds left Katniss glances at Peeta only to see him shake his head. As the sun shined in Katniss' eyes she ambiguously saw Peeta shake his head making her puzzled as the gong rings out. Katniss knew she missed her chance to get to the cornucopia, instead she grab a sheet of plastic, loaf of bread and runs for the bright orange supply backpack twenty feet from her.
If I was Katniss I would had not question going to the cornucopia at all, even though there was the bow and arrow. I wouldn't had looked at Peeta or any of the tributes I would had just decide were I would go. Probably I would had done what Katniss ended up doing, taking the orange supply bag, but only I would of gone towards it straight away and right to the lake.
In chapter 12 Katniss was almost certain she would die of dehydration. On page 168 Katniss was so desperate for water, as loud as she dared said, " Water " trying to signal Haymitch that she needed water. Quickly following her desperation she assumed he was most likely drunk or because she knew he didn't like her that Peeta would get all the supply. Dispute her anger, hatred and suspicions, a small voice in the back of Katniss' head whispers an answer, Maybe he's sending you a message. ( page 169 ) At that point Katniss realizes that it must mean she close to some sort of water supply. Eventually she found a pond and finally got water.
At the point when Katniss faced dehydration, I thought that her best chance to get water was at the beginning of the games.Since the backpack had containers to hold water, I think that she should have grabbed the backpack, gone to the lake, fill up on water then possibly search the outskirts of the forest. Although she did find a pond, her odds were very low. In this case I think after the backpack, water was her first priority.

I really enjoyed your blog post! I thought the most craziest part in these chapters was when Katniss was trying to take that bag but them someone behind her was about to kill her then out of no where he spits out a whole bunch of blood meaning that someone killed him. Its funny because most of the people that went for the cornucopia died so its a good thing that she didn't go after it. Something else that was pretty interesting was when Peeta said that he liked Katniss. It wasn't really a big shocker because you could tell that he always liked her because of how he acted. But how will they compete with each other in the hunger games now? will Katniss still go for Peeta and kill him or will she try to team up with him? I don't know but we shall see!
